An Outpouring of Love

benefit auction

The outpouring of love for Ben and his family has been amazing.  His great-uncle helped organize a benefit auction that raised a substantial amount of money to help defray medical costs for the upcoming brain surgery. Held at Ben’s paternal grandparents’ church, the auction not only included the contents of an estate but also baked goods (one pie that has not even been baked yet sold for $150) and donated items such as this drum cover signed by Blake Shelton, Little Big Town, Wynonna Judd, Kellie Pickler, Craig Morgan, Jewel, Joan Osbourne, Mark Wills, Ashley Monroe, Michelle Branch, Jimmy Wayne and others from the 40th Annual Country Music Association Awards 2006!

Other donations from friends, family, and fellow church members have been substantial.  And Ben’s dad is making Believing for Ben bracelets to be worn as a reminder for us to keep Ben in our thoughts and prayers literally minute by minute each day.

Ben’s surgery still has not been scheduled, but we are hoping it will be happening soon so this precious little guy can get back to doing what he loves, like throwing rocks into the creek.  Check out the bracelet in this photo.  He’s wearing one, too!
